On Site in Bathgate: Filming Industrial Roofing Scotland's Commercial Roof Restoration

The Brief

A commercial roofing restoration is a big investment for any building owner — and it's not always easy to picture the difference it makes until the job is done. Industrial Roofing Scotland wanted a way to show that difference clearly: a project overview video, filmed on site in Bathgate, tracking the restoration from the first inspection through to the completed roof.

The brief covered the full lifecycle of the project — before, during and after — along with an interview with the project manager to explain the thinking behind the work: the condition of the roof at the start, the approach taken, and the standard the finished job needed to meet.

Capturing the Full Scope of the Job

Industrial and commercial roofing work happens at height and at scale, which makes it difficult to show properly from ground level alone. To capture the full extent of the restoration, we combined drone filming with on-the-ground interview coverage across the project's key stages.

That gave us:

• Before — establishing shots of the existing roof, showing the wear, damage or corrosion that made the restoration necessary
• During — drone and site footage of the crew at work, covering the practical reality of a live restoration project
• Completed — the finished roof from above and up close, showing the condition, finish and quality of the completed work

Throughout, we worked around live site conditions and safety requirements, filming in a way that documented the project without getting in the way of it.
